I Heart Trader Joes

A Trader Joes just opened about a mile away from us. We have always been fans of the store, but having one so close makes us love it even more.

Reasons I love Trader Joes:

(1) When someone rings the bell next a register. (I don't know why I like this - I just do.)
(2) The inexpensive prices and free parking.
(3) The variety of organic and high quality foods.
(4) Free samples. Even better - when the sample lady sees that I have a screaming toddler, she hands me a cup of animal crackers from her secret stash. Then I buy a container for our house.
(5) Four words: Honey Wheat Pretzel Sticks (I don't know one person who doesn't absolutely love these!)

Walking in the Rain

I'm supposed to be training for the Breast Cancer 3-Day which takes place in September. So Cohen and I have been walking a couple times a week. Because I live in an area with a lot of hills, I think my arms are getting more of a workout than my legs. One morning it was raining, but we went out anyway. Sweet little Cohen decided it was an opportune time for a nap.

Parking???!

This sign is posted in the Bartell Drugs parking garage right next to the elevator. The handicap parking is around the corner next to the stairs. I'm all for "going green," but do hybrid cars really need to be parked closest to the entrance? Shouldn't that be reserved for people who have physical limits or pregnant ladies or parents with small children???

Fancy Cupcakes

Instead of a cake for my birthday this year, we decided to get cupcakes. Mark found out about a great cupcake shop in Wallingford - Trophy Cupcakes and Party. We had so much fun picking out our cupcakes and an even better time eating them.

This is the cupcake I picked out as my birthday cupcake. Carrot Cupcake - yummy!
